I have a PhD. degree in law, however, I would not identify myself as a lawyer, I would prefer to call myself a criminologist.
I live and work in Budapest, Hungary. Recently I am an associate professor at the Hungarian University of Public Service, Doctoral School of Police Sciences and Law enforcement. I am a lecturer for prison psychology and prison sociology at ELTE University. Not only prison psychologists need psychological knowledge, in my opinion, therefore I decided to teach social sciences, not psychotherapy. I lead a course in the frames of the Erasmus program: "The social psychology of the criminal behavior in prison setting". In this program, we target the prison gangs, drug-related issues and several theories of criminology, but I like to discuss also moral problems with my students.
From 1992 to 2014 I worked as a prison (correctional) officer. Earlier I was the Hungarian member of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT). During my official activity, I visited more than hundred prison facilities across Europe. As field studies, I did research not only in Hungary but also in Austria, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland.
I do some qualitative research in prisons. I published a book with my co-author on this topic in Hungarian: "Captured Thoughts". I am a big fan of the TV series like OZ, Lost, TWD, OITNB, Black Mirror and Chance; hip-hop, death metal, and psychedelic trance music.

Üdvözlöm a börtönrajzokról szóló online kísérletemben.
Fliegauf Gergely vagyok, elméleti börtönpszichológus. Ez azt jelenti, hogy nem dolgozom már a börtönben, hanem a valós börtönbeli tapasztalataimat próbálom a tudománynak megfeleltetni. Valamivel több, mint négy évig dolgoztam a Budapesti Fegyház és Börtönben. Hihetetlen dolgokat éltem meg a munkám sorám, amit igyekszem a börtönön kívüli világgal megosztani. Tiszteletben tartom a szolgálati titkokat és a személyiségi jogokat.
Állam- és jogtudományokból bölcsészdoktori (PhD) fokozatom van, de nem tartom magam jogásznak, inkább kriminológusnak.
Budapesten élek és dolgozom. Jelenleg az NKE RTK, Rendészettudományi Doktori Iskolájában vagyok egyetemi docensként oktató. Nem gondolom, hogy a pszichológiára csak a börtönpszichológusoknak van szüksége, ezért leginkább társadalomtudományt tanítok, nem pszichoterápiát.

Kvalitatív börtönkutatásokkal foglalkozom. Ennek jegyében írtam szerzőtársammal a Fogva tartott gondolatok című könyvet. Szakmai munkám során több mint száz európai börtönben tettem látogatást. Kutatást végeztem Magyarországon kívül Csehországban, Lengyelországban, Németországban és Ausztriában.
Nagy rajongója vagyok az OZ, Lost, TWD, OITNB, Black Mirror és Chance tévésorozatoknak, a hip-hop, a death metál és a goa zenei stílusoknak.
